At this low a price/TB I'm almost tempted to violate my "no shucking" rule  :)

... if it was a 6TB drive, I almost certainly would do that (but I just don't buy drives this "small" anymore)

    Me neither... In fact, after the two 4TB HGSTs and three 8TB Archives for testing, I don't buy drives at all  :) It's just inertia what's causing me to keep looking for good deals. And, somehow it makes me feel good to see the $25/TB record broken more and more often.
