I'm not sure how to describe this except that I have a new build (first boot) that all the files are on the USB drive and easy to see in windows.  The USB is one that I've used with unraid recently.  The system boots normally, log looks good as it boots...  Login as normal, but there are no files to be seen in the boot directory.

I've tried 2 different USB sticks, build from ground up and get the same behaviors.

    Is the USB drive plugged into a USB3 socket by any chance?

     

    If so try plugging it into a USB2 socket.
