July 15, 200916 yr Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB is $130 at newegg, no coupon needed. You also get a copy of Acronis True Image Home 2009 for free. Great value for the software if you need it since it's worth $40. If you don't you can sell it on ebay for $25 - $30 all day long. Net cost for the HDD is about $110. Considering that the 1TB is priced at $80 and that's considered good value, $110 for 1.5TB should be an even better value.
July 15, 200916 yr If anyone is interested in just getting the Acronis True Image Home software for $25 shipped (lower 48 only) let me know.
July 15, 200916 yr How is the Acronis True Image licensed? Is it just a serial number or is there an activation process limiting it's installation to one computer?
July 15, 200916 yr I don't have the 2009 version. I have the one previous & it was just a serial number. The program lets you make a boot up cd with the full program on it. That is what I did. I can use it on all of my computers by using that boot up cd. Works great. I write the backup file direct to my unRAID server. The boot up cd lets you select a network location for the destination for the image file.
July 16, 200916 yr I use PING and it is free: http://ping.windowsdream.com/ Works great for network image backup of PCs to unRAID server.
August 6, 200916 yr I use PING and it is free: http://ping.windowsdream.com/ Works great for network image backup of PCs to unRAID server. OT: I'm looking at installing PING to back up/restore of my PC from my unRAID. I have read the instructions but still don't understand what and how to install on my PC and my unRAID (already burned the boot disc). Could you give me a 101 on how to setup specifically for an unRAID.
