July 22, 201510 yr Hi guys, Really struggling to make this happen. I bought myself a new router, as I needed an upgrade anyway. I manage to get the login prompt after the unRaid installs itself. However I cannot get into the system to set it up. I get the following from the Server: Inet 192.168.1.3 Netmask 255.255.255.0 Broadcast 192.168.1.255 My pc is the following: Ipv4 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Default 192.168.1.1 I can ping the server and all the packets come back ok. But each time I either try http://tower or 192.168.1.3 I get nothing. I'm stumped. Please help. Many thanks, Morten
July 22, 201510 yr Author Just as a heads up... My router software allows me to see what is connected to it, and Tower is shown. But I still can't manage to access the web gui etc.
July 22, 201510 yr Assuming you are on v6, since this is v6 subforum. On the monitor and keyboard (also known as the console) connected to your server (or you can use telnet), log in as root, no password unless you have set one. Type diagnostics Ignore any error messages that result. Then type powerdown After unRAID shuts down, put the unRAID flash drive that you use to boot your server into your PC. Get the diagnostics zip file from the logs folder on that flash drive and post it. *reason for edit - more detailed instructions *
July 22, 201510 yr Author Thanks Trurl, Ok, so I did exactly as you mentioned, but there is no diagnostic file on my flash drive. I have also made sure hidden files are shown. This is what I get when I type diagnostics after logging into root.

OK, try the old method of getting your syslogcp /var/log/syslog /boot/syslog.txt This should create a file named syslog.txt on the flash drive. Post it.
July 22, 201510 yr The flash drive is missing the go file, which explains why the GUI is not accessible (emhttp is never started). I recommend you rerun the installation of unRAID. See this video: or
July 22, 201510 yr Author Many thanks guys for all your help.... this is turning out to be a frustrating exercise now. Trurl.... I typed in what you asked and got no file written. :'( I've noticed on boot up, I get various errors now and then. I decided to take some photo's of it. I will post below. Bonienl.... This is something I have been fearing also. As I mention to Trurl, I don't seem to have all the options etc. I have now retried reformatting etc on both the MAC and PC. I have also tried using the previous V6 version (6.0.0), also to no avail. Gents, I have an ASUS H97I-Plus MB, I had some issues getting the system to log into the flash drive. Could any of the issues be caused by improper BIOS setup? Anyway, here are some pictures of the error messages I get during boot up
July 23, 201510 yr Author Ok.... finally. Gents, I went back into the BIOS and started changing a few settings. To be honest, I just fiddled with a whole bunch of settings which I thought made sense. Result... It now boots up without errors, and I can now access the Web GUI. Hurray!!!!! Thank you all so much for your time. I really appreciate it. I know you all have better things to do then tell a noob what he's doing wrong. Thanks again, with any luck the rest from here on in will be straight forward. Kind regards, Morten
