SOLVED: Cannot connect to Tower after replacing router

Featured Replies

I recently switched my router and connected directly to the router/modem provided by my ISP (TWC).

Ever since I made the switch I cannot connect to the tower - tried hooking up a monitor to the tower and checking if the tower was booting up at all, and it looks like it is booting up but with some difficulty. Got stuck at one point for quite some time and then completed the boot process and gave me the prompt and I logged in and tried

ifconfig eth0

and it showed me an inet address which was the same as my old IP for the tower tried reaching the IP from my browser but no luck there.

Went to the router/modem admin page and tried to see if the tower was in the client list and it wasn't there so I'm lost at this point - no idea what is happening. any help is welcome. I've attached the most recent syslog after the powerdown.

Thanks in advance.

Is your replacement router setup the same as the old one? I had the same issue as I wasn't using the same setup as my old one. Once I setup the new one with same IP, gateway, dhcp range, etc all was good.

What is the IP of your router, and what is the IP of your unraid box?

Sounds like youve set a static IP on your unraid box and your new router is using a different IP range.

Thank you both - stupid old me.

The IP range was the issue - solved now.
