Caller-ID Yac?

Featured Replies

Has anyone figured out a way to install a Modem that supports Caller-ID in there unRaid Server and have it use YAC to send out Caller-ID info to other YAC listening Clients?  I have had this working in the past on windows PC and would love to see it work on my unRaid Server.

unRAID is meant to be a media/file server and any enhancements would likely be towards enhancing that functionality.  I doubt there will be much enthusiasm for such a feature.  The only reason YAC has been mentioned at all is so that is can be used to notify clients of the status of unraid itself.  I would think it would be easier to put the modem in another machine and run YAC there.

Agreed, I run CallerID (TapiRex, not YAC) on my media center (send out to all other PC's on the LAN). Works great.

But i dont want to have a PC running for this to happen, just thought it would nice to be able to use my unRaid Server since its running 24/7 and i use my XBMC boxes to access it. I have a script that runs on the XBOX that listens for yac caller id broadcast and works fine but i have to have a PC running with a modem installed to be able to push out the caller id info to other yac clients.  Just trying to cut down on the amount of PC's running in my home.
