waiting for /dev/disk/by-label/UNRAID at boot up

Featured Replies

While booting my unraid machine it displays the following message on the console

waiting for /dev/disk/by-label/UNRAID (will check for 30 sec)...

To work around this problem I just pull out and reinsert the flashdrive with unraid on it.

I realize this isnt the most elegent solution and was wondering if anyone has seen this message before and knows how to fix it.

I have attached a png of the screen at boot.

Your flash drive is not properly labeled or has corrupted itself. You might need to recreate it from Windows.

I have just reformatted the flash drive in windows and checked that the device label was correct but the problem still persists.

Try a USB2 port.

Make sure BIOS isn't trying to use UEFI when booting from flash.

Make sure flash is formatted FAT or FAT32.
