September 29, 200916 yr I've been hunting for a possible sata PCI Express card for my ASUS mb (one 16x and one 1x slot). I noticed the Syba card mentioned in another post and it seemed like a possible option for the 1x slot. I was hoping it would hold me out while the support is added for the 8 port Supermicro pcie card. I haven't found anything in the forum except for the one video issue below. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4091.0 Can anyone share a success story?
September 29, 200916 yr I've used a SIL3124 PCI-X card with success. I have not used this particular card though. Your motherboard may have other results then per the other thread.
September 29, 200916 yr Author I've used a SIL3124 PCI-X card with success. I have not used this particular card though. Your motherboard may have other results then per the other thread. Which card? I'm not partial to a manufacturer. I'd like to maximize my sata ports since my mb has only the 2 pice slots. I already see that I may have to swap out the MB in the future. The Rosewill RC-218 4-port PCIe x4 would probably work find but I believe I would have to use the 16x slot. I would like to use a 8 port in that slot. If someone else has succeeded with any 4 port 1x pcie sata card I would pick up the card and give it a go. It won't guarantee I would have the same result but I would feel better knowing I had a chance. Thanks, db
September 29, 200916 yr I used a Norco PCI-X card (not a PCIe). I happen to have a number of motherboards with 64bit PCI-X 66/100/133Mhz. I have used the 2port mass cool SIL3132 card in 1X PCI-e. It can use port multipliers if you really need the extra ports.
