January 12, 201610 yr Before I used unRaid I used Ubuntu server, with desktop installed .. So basically Ubuntu desktop. I used teamviewer to do certain tasks when I'm not home. I used this because it is free, gives me a GUI and works even with a dynamic IP. And I could control it from my iPad, which I always take with me. I know I can do the same in unRaid, but I hate to have a VM running all the time when I'm not using it. Is there a way to acces my unraid server remote in the same kinda way I did before? Maybe a TeamViewer kinda like plugin/docker? Or a way to remote start a VM?
January 12, 201610 yr Personally I use a VPN to my home router. Once connected to the VPN I can do everything I can do at home like SSH to unraid or access the GUI. I have an Asus router and use their built in Dynamic DNS to get a name for my dynmaic IP.

I installed openvpn-as as a docker, installed openvpn client on my iPad. When I connect it, everything works fine. But when I switch to mobile internet, it isn't able to connect? Keeps waiting for server. Do I need to do some portforwarding, and if yes: which?
January 12, 201610 yr We all do it via built in functionality on our routers. You're far better off if you need help setting up openvpn-as to post in the appropriate support thread. ie Phaze's plugin, linuxserver.io's container.
