I've run out of options (no response from Plex community), so hoping someone in this (more responsive!) community has experienced the problem...and has a solution! Has anyone experienced a situation where some plex channels work and others don't? I've got my Plex server (on unRaid v6.1.6, latest unRaid Plex (limetech/plex:latest)) working well locally. I'm now playing around with Channels and have sporadic success. Some channels work, many do not. Other than the few that do work (Fox News is one), most others do not. I get error messages like plex channels "cannot load m3u8:404 not found" Sorry there was a problem playing this item This channel not responding Depending on which browser (testing with latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE and Edge) and what channels I'm trying to access the errors are different, but consistent for that Channel. Channels that Work Fox News PBS TED HGTV Channels that return some level of the above errors FOX (access Simpsons for example via Chrome:Plex Home>Channels>navigate to Fox Channel>Simpsons>Episodes Display, click on one - initially get Plex Media Server is not responding (skipping in x sec), then get "cannot load m3u8: 404 not found") BBC (access latest news, display articles, click on video, "Plex Media Server Is Not Responding", then just cycles through all the articles, not playing anything and no error messages) SyFy (Get the message - "This Channel is not supported in Chrome, or Edge, or Firefox...(I tried several browsers)") CNN (Get the message - "This channel is not responding") USA (Get the message - "This Channel is not supported in Chrome, or Edge, or Firefox...") History (drill down to a show and videos, click on a show and get: "Sorry there was a problem playing this item") My first guess was that its a matter of region or 'paid login'/access issue, I know that Fox News requires a cable company login to work from other news apps (i.e. on my iPad)... And perhaps Channels just don't work that well on Plex (and I'm ok with that, just want to stop trying if there's no fix), or perhaps there's something I need to do. Tried looking through the Plex logs, but not seeing anything that appears useful. Log from Plex Media Server.log, last couple of attempts. interwebtech Posted January 13, 2016 Share Posted January 13, 2016 Nothing we can do Channels are inherently flaky since the channel plugin author has to keep track of where the videos are stored on the channels web site. Comedy Central moves them around all the time. Can take a week or more for author to update it. All that aside, some of the channels just plain don't work. Others are half-baked. The ones that seem to work the best are based on podcasts. The worst are the TV networks. Link to comment
