January 17, 201610 yr I have the VM installed and it seem to be working just fine. I can VNC into it from the unraid console and install software etc. Also, the VM can see the internet just fine. Problem is, the VM has an IP address that isnt a part of my subnet. I assume that it didn't get it from my DHCP / Router. But so far i have not been able to connect to it from the the other desktop systems in my house. Windows Remote Desktop client won't connect to the VM's ip (or using the system name) and also i cant browse to a file share that i created as a test. My other real desktops don't see it. Am i missing something? I just watched that fantastic video on how to setup a win 10 vm hoping to see the key thing that i missed but when he turned on Remote Desktop it just worked. That doesnt seem to be the case for me. I've tried to change the network setting in the VM to use my wireless gate way as it's gateway but when i do that i lose internet connection from within the VM which makes me think that that is making it worse. Any help would be much appreciated.
January 17, 201610 yr You have to enable bridge in your UnRaid network settings and then select br0 as your network bridge, under your Windows VM settings. This will give you an ip from your DHCP.
January 17, 201610 yr Author Interesting. I think that i'm closer. I was able to enable bridge and choose br0 as my network bridge, but the IP that i see by running ipconfig in the VM is still not from my DHCP server. Does it need to be configured this way during install for it to work?
January 17, 201610 yr Author I figured it out. Changing it in the VM Manager sets the default. If the VM is already configured you have to edit the VM's configuration. The network settings are in the "Advanced" area!
