[solved] help with data migration from USB drives

Featured Replies

might be a noob question but how do I go about data migration from a USB HDD (NTFS)

I have tried to pass the USB drive through to a Windows 10 VM to no avail

    - made sure it is checked in VM setting then started VM but, It does not show in windows.

In SSH via putty I have tried fdisk -l (with VM stopped)and the drive does not list

also the /dev does not show any drives besides the internal 4 drives sda b c & d

what am I doing wrong?

Have you installed the Unassigned Devices plugin?  You need this to get support for NTFS-3G (base unRAID does not have it) which is what you are likely to be needing.  The plugin also handles the mounting/unmounting of such drives.
