I assume with unraid the disks are thick provisioned as opposed to thin?  Is this the only option for disk format/creation within unraid/KVM?

    Under advanced view when creating a VM you can choose between RAW and QCOW2.  QCOW2 are thin provisioned images.

    And that's automatic right?

    The RAW images that were created on my XFS cache drive were sparse, so that's almost like thin provisioning. I don't remember changing anything to make that happen.
