Preclear Plugin hangs on Boot Record

Featured Replies

Been running the new preclear plugin (v1.15) on a 5TB drive for about 4 or 5 days.  I've been watching the progress (pretty slow at 36mb/s, it started at around 100mb/s), but for over 24 hours now, its been at the same place:

Is there a way to see if the drive has activity?  The drive light is steady, no activity.  How long should I let it stay in this state?

I also have a 5 TB drive in the exact same state.

How long has it been in this state?  This is my 2nd Seagate ST5000DM000 drive, the other cleared preclear with no issues.

3-4 days now. I am not aware how to stop it without rebooting the unRAID server which I plan to do this weekend.

Can you open a terminal?

If so you can use the top command to list all the processes and process ids.

Then the kill [process id] command to stop the process.

Sure, at least I have full control of the system.  Just didn't want to stop it prematurely until the plugin owner had a chance to review - in case there was a diagnostic they wanted to perform...  As I mentioned in the previous post, gfardim recommended reposting, so I did...  we'll see what comes about of it...
