BTRFS - Raid 0?

Featured Replies

I have 2-250GB SSD's that I would like in raid0 for my cache drive, instead of raid1. Can I do this by changing "-dconvert=raid1 -mconvert=raid1" to raid 0? I tried to re balance it but nothing happened. I realize this will not be protected, but I feel like raid 1 with SSD's is terrible. 3+ it could make sense. But I want performance on both SSDs for 500GB not 250GB.

Anyone done this yet? Or can I setup my drives in raid 0 with raid controller and go back to xfs and 1 cache drive?

Worked for me:

-dconvert=raid0 -mconvert=raid1

or

-dconvert=raid0 -mconvert=raid0

But metadata always stays raid1.
