February 27, 201610 yr Hello, I have a failing cache drive. my docker.img, and containers are located on the cache drive I've tried midnight commander to copy off the contents of mnt/cache/* to mnt/disk14/cachebackup but when it begins copying over the docker.img it fails at exactl 1998Mb every single time. I've tried just a simple CP same issue. Ive stopped docker... same issue. im lost. I followed this guide (http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Replace_A_Cache_Drive) but the above issue prevented me from continuing. Any ideas?
February 27, 201610 yr Don't bother with the docker.img file. It's easy enough to recreate just by selecting the templates that unraid conveniently saves for you with all your settings intact. Just worry about your cache only shares, appdata or whatever you call your docker config location. Honestly, because of the way unraid currently has the docker service set up, it's not a bad idea to blow away your docker image every once in a while just to clean out the cruft.
February 27, 201610 yr Author Thanks, Ive decided to add the new drive as a secondary cache drive. wait for it to 'sync' and then ill go ahead use MC again to copy the entire cache minus the docker.img
