I have given up trusting Seagate drives....  It seems any failure I have had in past couple of years have been Seagate's. Plus that 3TB issue that has been in the news... But I am NOT an HDD expert; just anecdotal experience.

 

 

The 4TB version is half off the regular price.

In fact all the drive capacities are heavily discounted.

I wonder if this is in response to WD's announcement of 8TB helium drives...

do I replace year old 5TB WD Red parity drive with the 6TB Seagate (now $199 on Amazon)?  The Seagate would be the first non WD drive in my array.  Wish the WD reds were on sale sometime soon.  Decisions, decisions.
