Shares for specified users

Featured Replies

Hi there

Is there a way to allow specified shares to users of the unraid system? So when you try to connect to a share, it requires a login and a password, and only users with these information can access this share, instead of having access to all shares? I am not looking for a owncloud service.. Thanks

Yes, look under the Share settings on the Security tab.  It is probably worth turning on the unRAID Help to get a description of what the settings do.

And read this post. In particular, you may have problems getting Windows to give you a login prompt when trying to access a share with access restricted to specific users if you have already accessed any other shares on your unRAID server. This is a Windows problem, not an unRAID problem. Windows only allows a single login per remote machine for share access and if you are already accessing it as one user it won't ask you again what user you want to use, it will just tell you that access was denied.
