ImBadAtThis
So I just upgraded to unRAID 6 and need to delete an old Apple Time Machine Backup. How can I do this? I attempted to manually delete the contents of the share (sparse bundle) but it just hangs up. I'm (obviously) pretty new at this. Thanks for any help. Link to comment
John_M
Are you sure it just hung up? Time Machine sparse bundles consist of many thousands of 8 MB band files that take a while to delete, especially if you're deleting them via the network, using the Finder. Just give it time or, better, do it via the Linux command line or using Midnight Commander. You need to telnet or ssh into your server to do that. Something like: rm -rf /mnt/user/TimeMachine/TMBackups.sparseimage would do the trick. Link to comment
ImBadAtThis
I've figured it out. Even after attempting to delete all of the files in the share and deleting the name of the share, it still said that the share wasn't empty. So I changed the maximum share size to 0MB and it gave me the "delete share option." Thanks for your help! Link to comment
