March 28, 201610 yr In reading the release notes it says that Yes Nested VMs works. I have tried a bunch of different settings for the VM and each time i get a PSOD on VMware 5.5 Update 3 installer. I'm guessing its something dumb like not knowing all the template settings. Maybe I overlooked the post that has the settings. Either way can we get a template for ESX?

The way I installed ESX was by putting it on a USB stick and then creating a VM where I passed through just that USB stick to the VM. I believe you can install ESXi using either OVMF or SeaBIOS.
