If I should need to yank a drive and put it into another server due to some sort of disaster, I will have a few UUID challenges to overcome. I created a new 6.2b23 boot key for testing, and it seems this limitation is removed. (my servers are on 6.1.9) root@Tower:~# xfs_admin -U generate /dev/sdd1 Clearing log and setting UUID writing all SBs new UUID = b8cacfbe-97c3-40fa-983d-b422c4c52edf All is well in UUID land if you run with the latest beta...
