Win10 creation

Featured Replies

There is now a Windows creation tool. I threw mine right on a USB drive and it has worked for several machines already.Just need to make sure it has a registered version of Win7/8 on it then you are allowed install the same level Windows 10 for free. I'l going to confirm another one today.

As you may or may not know, the free upgrade to Windows 10 from '7 or '8 has expired (the 29th was the last day).

HOWEVER ... there's a loophole  :)

If you're handicapped and require assistive devices, then as long as you confirm this with Microsoft [by asserting "Yes, I use assistive technologies and I am ready for my free upgrade to Windows 10."], you can still get the upgrade for free.

Microsoft does NOT require any further validation other than your word.

... Let your conscience be your guide  :)

Hey Gary

I knew that, but I was able to activate one doing it that way after the 29th. There were conditions. (Speaking of Dell). It had to have a Dell OEM install from the disc it came with. Once that was registered, the new Windows creation tool would then boot and install Windows 10 letting you skip the key. I work with a large company that only deals with Dell, and have them all over. Including the OEM DVD's. I'll give a try today.

It has something to do with the OEM Dell software already registering the hardware it was going on. It does that automatic. Have a generic machine, it won't work.

Understand.    ... and it makes sense.    Dell sells a lot of systems with "free upgrade to '10" => and there's no condition on that upgrade, so it likely didn't expire on the 29th like the offer to the general public did.

Most DELL OEM DVD's install fine on any Dell and register automatically. Makes is easy working with one brand.
