August 8, 20169 yr So I started with unRaid a few versions ago when it was a basic fileserver with redundancy. The years since then have brought a tremendous amount of additional features. The most advanced feature I've really used is the new web interface. This has a little bit to do with my under-powered Atom processor, but more to do with my complete ignorance to all these new features. So can someone give me a brief overview of Dockers, VMs, Plugins, and Apps? Why would I use one over the other, or to maybe phrase better, what are the use cases for each one of these "add ons" to unRaid? Thanks!

Here's a good a description as you'll find of the differences. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrading_to_UnRAID_v6#Plugins.2C_Dockers.2C_and_VMs Assuming that you have at least 4G ram, you're going to be running docker apps for whatever you can. The various system tool add-ons are usually plugins only. Since the speed of your CPU isn't the greatest, you'd probably be best steering clear of VMs To see what's available prior to upgrading to v6, look here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=37958.0 After upgrading to v6, install Community Applications (link in sig) and browse around
