February 6, 201016 yr so is there anything else that needs to be copied to the flash to do the memtest? Would it be the same as a memtest from an install disk of say kubuntu? Any memtest would do, if you can run it.
February 6, 201016 yr Author well, after removing everything from the motherboard, and not having any luck, I decided to swap out the CPU. sure enough, it runs memtest now! however, im still not out of the woods.. as it freezes at decompressing linux. I have read that the normal way to fix this is to slow down the USB key.. however I do not have any options in the bios to change usb speed.. Any more suggestions?
