morti
Hey there, I want to know what options there are to start a vm. Obviously you can start a vm by web gui or automatically at the start of the array. I guess there will be some kind of script or command one could execute to start a VM. I tried the search but "start" and "vm" are not quite uncommon keywords. Background to this is, that I have multiple users on a 24/7 machine that use vms with gpus and usb controllers on a client like basis. I want to make them able to turn on their own VMs. It would not matter to much to me, if I would need to install some sort of plugin to accomplish this. Another idea: Depending on what the web gui does by pressing the start vm button, it might be possible to just put that action to a link the users can start from their smartphones, without tabbing around in the web gui first? I took a peek and there appears to be unique codes to each action on each vm, but I am not into this kind of stuff enough to figure out how to make use of it. The goal in that case would be to have a browser link on a smartphone where that start-code would be pressed and send. maybe one of you guys have a solutions to this, and if there is vm start command already, I might just put a macro and save that command so it will be executed at the press of a button. greetings Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
dmacias72 Virtual Machine Wake On Lan plugin will allow you to control the VM's just like physical machines with WOL broadcasts. If you want to script something yourself with the user scripts plugin, google virsh commands. If you want an already packaged system, there is a user authored (not official limetech) smartphone control suite for sale in the app store for ios or android. https://www.apertoire.com/controlr/ Quote Link to comment
morti
this is just 100% what I was searching for. Got WOL working on multiple phones for multiple machines now, and it sure is easy enough for the users. problem solved Quote Link to comment
