Five sync errors

Featured Replies

Not too long ago there was a thread about people who had five sync errors reported after every parity check. I'm having this issue too, have been for some time. Every time a parity check runs, which is monthly, it reports five sync errors corrected. Is this a false positive and if so, why does it keep showing up every month? I have a parity check running now, and sure enough it says, five sync errors corrected.....

Curious about something, because sure enough my secondary server (at least while it was running 6.1.9 until last week) also had continual 5 sync errors.  But those sync errors only ever happened under a specific circumstance - namely if I rebooted the server.  If a reboot never happened between checks, the 5 errors would never appear.  After a reboot, the 5 errors would reappear (exact same locations), which makes me think that something at boot time in the bios of the mobo or hba was messing around with me.

Have never quite gotten around to diagnosing the exact issue though.

This is on my 105TB server, and sure its been rebooted a bunch of times for one reason or another, but its just odd. I don't believe they are real sync errors, just really curious as to why it keeps reporting them though.
