APC SMART UPS 1000 + EP45-UD3P is it possible?

Looks like I need to change one more parameter

UPSTYPE

Currently it is set to "usb"  I think it needs to be set to "apcsmart" for your serial port connection.

Here is an updated .zip.

The unMENU package-manager plugin file AND the apcupsd-unmenu-package.conf are both updated in this zip.  Now, if you edit the configuration variables the existing manual_install and auto_install files will be automatically removed.  You will then be presented with button to re-install with the new values, and re-enable on re-boot with the new values.

I added this line in the apc ups package configuration file:

PACKAGE_INSTALLATION [ "${vDEVICE-NO}" = "YES" ] && sed -i -e "s/^UPSTYPE usb/UPSTYPE apcsmart/" /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf

Unzip to your /boot/unmenu folder.  refresh the package-manager plug-in page to have it re-read the new files.

I updated the zip file in the prior post...

Reminder to self... Make sure you have a second cup of coffee before attempting complex tasks in the AM. ;D

The package manager is very nice, very simple. And it seems now that everything is working. I can see the ups status from the system info page. I will experiment with it now and report back. Many thanks to getting this working for me.

Don't forget to press the re-install on re-boot button.

I did and also installed the clean powerdown. I've down some simulated power outages. It shut down just like it should, and returns when power is restored. You are a major asset to the community. I really appreciate you taking the time to get this sorted out with me. A syslog is attached to show your time has paid off.
