December 12, 20169 yr Hi, I've just updated my Parity Drive (8TB) and placed the old Parity (5TB) into the Array. After clearing and formatting the old Parity I received a Smart error report. Should this drive be removed or is it safe to retain? Smart Report attached. Dave ST5000DM000-1FK178_W4J0EA9D-20161212-0904.txt
December 12, 20169 yr Community Expert There are some troubling signs, but the last read error was a long time ago: Error 36 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 245 hours (10 days + 5 hours) Current power on hours are 11749, so I'd give it a second chance, but not a third.

Thank you Jonnie, Is there a way to force another read to determine if its about to fail? Dave PS might still be under warranty ?
December 13, 20169 yr Author Hi Johnnie, I re-ran a new extended Smart report with roughly the same results (see attached). Not sure I can get a warranty at this point unfortunately. Dave ST5000DM000-1FK178_W4J0EA9D-20161212-0904_2.txt

December 13, 20169 yr Author Hello Jonnie, Thank you for your analysis, I will leave it in the Array but continue to watch it. At the moment it is "empty" except for the XFS format & UnRaid signature. I really appreciate your support and response. I hate to "bug" you but I'm having a deuce of a time trying to get my Plex Server back up and running. Somehow, when I changed out my system (pre replacing the Parity Drive), I managed to mess it up even though I've reinstalled it several times, it doesn't seem to find my Server. Dave

Can't help with that as I don't use Plex, best way to get help is to post in the appropriate plugin/docker thread.
