December 19, 20169 yr Hi ho everyone, after playing around with some VM's and randomly checking settings i notice that the UPS was not enabled. So i enabled it, then started getting communication lost errors. oh man, went back to the UPS settings page and sure enough its saying "communication lost" i have an APC UPS ES-550G and when i remove the USB lead and reinsert it i get -=-=-=-=-=- Dec 20 01:36:00 tower apcupsd[1014]: apcupsd 3.14.13 (02 February 2015) slackware startup succeeded Dec 20 01:36:00 tower apcupsd[1014]: NIS server startup succeeded Dec 20 01:36:40 tower kernel: usb 4-1: USB disconnect, device number 4 Dec 20 01:36:47 tower kernel: usb 4-1: new low-speed USB device number 5 using ohci-pci Dec 20 01:36:47 tower kernel: hid-generic 0003:051D:0002.0008: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Device [APC Back-UPS ES 550G FW:870.O3 .I USB FW:O3 ] on usb-0000:00:12.1-1/input0 Dec 20 01:37:00tower apcupsd[1014]: Communications with UPS lost. -=-=-=-=-=- Now this will have nothing to do with the VM's as they have been running etc, its just that what was what prompted me to be in teh main screen scheck etc. the settings on the UPS pge are attached, but are pretty standard APC UPS. Any idea where is should start? Chris

December 20, 20169 yr Try changing where it says: UPS Type and you have APCSmart, see if you can change that to USB and see what happens.
