January 4, 20179 yr I've been using the Dynamix TRIM plugin here: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=36543.0 It runs TRIM on a schedule, but most OSes don't support Raid 0 TRIM. I recently upgraded to a 10G network, and I have two 1TB Samsung 840 EVOs on hand. I am tempted to put them in as Raid 0 so I can read/write from the server at the full 1GB/s. Overkill sure, but I have no other use for the drives currently. My only concern is that these SSDS are well known for getting horrible speeds if they don't execute TRIM on a regular basis.
January 4, 20179 yr Community Expert Trim with btrfs works with any raid profile, at least the command itself works so I expect it's doing its job. Btrfs raid is very different from traditional raid as it divides the data and metadata in chunks and these are distributed by the disks depending on the profiles use, so I believe it's much more simple to get trim working, I tested and trim even worked with raid5/6.
