Stopped invalid configuration Pro 4.7

Featured Replies

Hi

looking for help & advise for stupid a mistake.

I am running unRAID server pro 4.7 without parity running thirteen 2 TB drives. I installed a 14th drive but when I tried to format it it failed.

I tried a couple more times to format it & again failed.I then stopped the array & unassigned it, shut down & removed the disc to check it on a windows pc.

WD diagnostics says the drive is toast.

My problem is that the array will not stat without the drive as it is reporting missing. No data was written to the new drive so I should not have lost anything.

I think the answer to my problem is here "http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ_for_unRAID_v4_and_v5" "On version 4.5.4 of unRAID onward" but I do not want to do anything to make things worse before seeking advice.

My plan was to max out on drives then switch on parity

I have the sys log but this was taken after reboot so may be no use I also have screenshot of main page with drive assignments

I would be thankful for any help.

You need to do a new config, on v4.7 there-s no GUI option, stop the array, go to the console and type:

initconfig

Thanks

After I type initconfig & confirm Yes what else would I need to do ?

The array will be initialized but all disks will remain assigned, you just need to start the array, if you had parity a parity sync would begin.

Thanks

I'll give it a go & report back

All up & running again initconfig did the job.

So relieved.

Thanks

13 drives and no parity. I hope you have very good backups.
