March 29, 200719 yr I'm having some trouble. I go into "Devices" (within the web interface) and my drives are listed in the pulldowns, These I've been able to get working correctly pci-0000:00:1f.1-ide-0:1 (hdb1) PATA:HDS725050KLAT80/XXXXXXX pci-0000:00:1f.1-ide-0:0 (hda1) PATA:Maxtor 98196H8/XXXXXXX pci-0000:06:00.0-ide-0:1 (hdf1) PATA:Maxtor 98196H8/XXXXXXX but when I assign either one of the following drives to a disk device pci-0000:06:00.0-ide-0:0 (unknown) PATA:Maxtor 98196H8/XXXXXXX pci-0000:00:1f.2-scsi-2:0:0:0 (unknown) SATA:ST3320620AS/XXXXXXX 1. I click back to the "main" 2. then click [start] 3 it takes to a page that says: Starting... [Refresh][start] (start is disabled) 4. I click [Refresh] 5. and it just takes me back to the "Main" area and it didn't start any process - like no parity sync - no format the drive - its not starting (button still says [start]) 6 if I click start again it just starts back up to item 3 and keeps cycling this way I even let it sit on the screen that says { Starting... [Refresh][start] } overnight (without hitting refresh) and it just did the same thing The thing I notice is that these 2 drives have "(unknown)" listed within the selection (see above) and the others say like (hdb1), (hda1), (hdf1) I'm thinking its not recognizing the devices correctly? any ideas?
April 1, 200719 yr I am getting everyones errors. I have the *unknown drive error*... im getting the *unformated* drive error .... I cant delete files. I just tried a start and my telnet session spewed this members.shaw.ca/pidd/telnet_capture.txt I am starting to lose some confidence here. Tom is there something I am doing wrong? Rob
April 1, 200719 yr It looks like at least 5 of us now posting in seperate threads with what appears to be the same non-Start issue. Only positive note appears to be that "it's not only my setup", therefore we can hope that if this is a common issue with V4.0beta, that Tom is hopefully looking into it with the highest priority? As an unRAID newbie, this certainly shakes the confidence, so I am starting to investigate other options (as a backup at this point only). However, to be fair to Tom, V4.0 is of course beta. Therefore we must accept that we are testing something with the purpose of finding these types of issues, hopefully allowing Tom to issolate the issue and identify a fix for the next beta release.
April 1, 200719 yr Ok I am back to V3.0 and all is well. All drives got mounted and Im doing the parity check ... 8 hours to go!
