"Directory bread(block 8199) failed". Is this a USB stick failure? What's the best approach for correcting this?

All four USB2 ports have now failed.  I have a new USB stick with a lifetime warranty coming tomorrow, but two of the three flash drives recommended in the YouTube video are either no longer for sale, or no longer offer sizes <64GB.  Not sure how to proceed if that doesn't work.
