how long should unraid remain "starting"  in the command area?

all drives assigned and all of that...when i hit start....parity has red light, 2 other drives have green light (which i read is normal) but in the command area...its seems to sit at "starting"

does it take a long time?

if i close browser window and go back in, it says stopped. configuration valid

either way....i tried writing a test file to the array (drag and drop)...and it wouldnt allow it...basically nothing happened...

i feel like a noob....and linux always reminds me of a hot chick with a cold sore.....

Hi cygnusaa.

Your post seems to describe the same issue we are discussing over here:

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=592.0

Please take a look and see if you are having the same symptoms as Daniel and me.

What hardware config are you running?  I assume you are also using V4.0beta7?

yes i read that post but i didnt see a solution...

i based my build on another posters success with this MB so i didnt think it would be an issue...

i certainly hope im not dead in the water...

i mean, for unraid to take me this far and not be able to create the array or mount the drives or whatever the problem is would be maddening....

I get flashing as well after the server has been powered on for a period of time.  Reading the documentation, this just indicates that the drives have been "spun-down".  This would explain why a re-boot stops the flashing, as the drives would be spun-up again.

I have noted the same issue.  ie. Even if I press the [start] button (which of course doesn't actually start anything), the drive status remains flashing, until I reboot.

;D  LOL!  Thanks, I needed that this morning.

4.0-beta8 will be posted soon which hopefully will solve some of these device discovery issues.
