OpenVPN losing User name & password after upgrade

Featured Replies

Hello. My question is around having OpenVPN retain/save user credentials and passwords if upgraded or re-image the config folder please? As every time I upgrade the OpenVPN docker, I need to SSH into tower and re-type in all the user credentials, and re-set up the names and privileges in OpenVPN admin / setup ection, as OpenVPN doesn't retain the info, so a bit cumbersome as you can image, I'm sure there is a config I havent enabled - Any guidance appreciated

Ive also always had this issue. Well, its always been intermittent. I have stopped updating the docker because of it.

Try posting in the support thread. Need to setup local auth.

@NotYetRated just fixed my issue (with help of @strike and @CHBMB ), instructions below in the hope it help you too buddy. Go in Authentication, change from "Pam" to "Local" then I re-add local users via user permissions, and clicked on show more, where I was able to add in local password. Aparently this fixes the issue with passwords being zeroed on upgrade. (see pdf attachment, which includes pictures also)
