bfeist
Hi all. I've got a 4-5 year old 4tb drive that bounced out as disabled. I've attached the smart report. Could someone tell me if I should attempt to reintegrate the drive, or just replace? Thanks in advance! ST4000DM000-1F2168_Z3007VGT-20170819-1220.txt Link to comment
ashman70
Replace it for these reasons. 5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 088 088 010 Pre-fail Always - 15368 197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0012 001 001 000 Old_age Always - 49400 198 Offline_Uncorrectable 0x0010 001 001 000 Old_age Offline - 49400 Link to comment
bfeist
Roger that. It doesn't owe me anything. It's been trucking along since 2013. Link to comment
SSD
It is beyond awful. 49,400 is the most pending sectors I've every seen. Funny the value is showing 1 with failure threshold of 0. (Value is normally 100.) Your allocated sectors are are 15,000. Not sure ever saw that many either. Saying it is an 88 with failure threshold of 10 is a joke. If ever a disk deserved to showed FAILED, this one is it! I'd replace it for sure. Link to comment
bfeist
Haha. Thanks. I should really learn how to read these reports more directly. Replacement ordered. Great excuse to upgrade the drive slot to 8TB. Link to comment
