October 1, 20178 yr Hi everyone, already since a while (I think since upgrading to 6.3.5), my Unraid server is spamming me with a lot of disk health warnings for my cache SSD, but manaully running a SMART test always shows everything fine... Could you maybe help me to determine if I have an issue and should replace that drive or if it is just a software issue? If drive replacement is needed (it´s about 2 years old), what is best practice to replace the cache drive? Many thanks in advance. LBH piratenas-diagnostics-20171001-1001.zip
October 1, 20178 yr - Your cooling is insufficient on your CPU. The system is throttling the CPU to prevent it from overheating. Oct 1 04:20:12 PirateNAS mcelog: Processor 1 heated above trip temperature. Throttling enabled. - Looks like you're installing an ancient version of the ipmi tools plugin. Remove and reinstall via the apps tab unless there's a valid reson for this (I don't follow the goings on with the plugin) Oct 1 04:20:10 PirateNAS root: Fix Common Problems: Warning: The plugin ipmitool.plg is not known to Community Applications and is possibly incompatible with your server What is the message regarding the SSD / disk health?
October 1, 20178 yr Community Expert SSD has seen better days, lots of reported uncorrected, there are also a few btrfs checksum errors, likely a result of the SSD errors, I would replace it.
October 1, 20178 yr Author Cooling is at the limit, but usually only reaching the top during Parity check (which is currently running), that´s why everything is a bit warmer than usually :-) OK, so I´ll replace the SSD, anyway want to add a new disk as parity, using the current parity disk for data. Is there a manual on how to replace the cache drive?

October 8, 20178 yr Author Thanks again for your help! Just a small update, I replaced the drive now (which was not that easy as there seem to some unreadable blocks already and repairing the filesystem didn´t really work) and everything looks good. Interestingly I put the old drive to my PC and the SanDisk SSD utility tells me that the drive is fine and has 98% lifespan....
