November 2, 20178 yr Unraid has had some frustrations during this trial period. I have my switch setup for link aggregation. My unraid is setup to use 802.3ad. It was working then stopped. I cannot get it to connection unless I pull one of the cables from t he switch. What could be the problem?
November 2, 20178 yr Does your switch support LACP? This is a requirement when using 802.3ad. Also ensure that all links in the bond have the same speed and duplex settings. Edited November 2, 20178 yr by bonienl

I don't see that explicitely mentioned in the description of the Linux bonding modes. Network wise it is recommended to use active mode, which enforces both sides to use LACP.
November 2, 20178 yr Thanks mate,I’ve seen some instances where you have to have an active and one end in passive or the link just ends up flooding itself with lacp negotiation packetsMy setup is just using 10gbe primary and a 1gbe cabled as a backupSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
November 2, 20178 yr Author Thanks for the replies. My switch supports LACP, but it doesn't give an option of active or passive. Turning LACP on and having unraid set to 802.3ad works now with both cables. I'm hoping that is the correct way to set it up.
