Parity drive with Read errors

Featured Replies

Just got a message that I had a bunch of read errors on my parity drive so it went offline. I stopped my array and now the parity drive is  in unassigned devices. I attached an image of the log at the time of the event. Bunch of read errors. Can anyone help me with the next step? Is my drive likely failing and needs replaced or can I salvage it?

Post the complete diagnostics: Tools -> Diagnostics

Disk dropped offline so there's no SMART report, you need to reboot and grab new diags, but it looks more like the typical SASLP problem.

I just rebooted the server and updated the diagnostic file upload (in first post)

There is a pending sector and unless it's a false positive it's likely a bad disk:

197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 1

Run an extended SMART test to confirm.

ok so most likely need to replace the drive then right?

I'll run the ext smart test but sounds like it'll need replaced.

- when I try to run any smart test, short or extended, it fails to run it.
