cache drive

Featured Replies

I have a share called "downloads" on my cache drive, should I have "included disks" as ALL and "excluded disks" as NONE and "use cache disk" as YES?

It's the folder I use when things get downloaded before the move to other folders.

Thanks

You normally only set the Include or Exclude option - not both.

in terms of the share type it depends on whether you want the files on it to ever be moved to the array.   Setting it to Yes means files are initially written to the cache and later moved to the array when mover runs.    If you are going to move the files to other folders you are probably better using the ‘Only’ option so files stay on the cache until moved out of the Downloads folder.

No.    Mover never moves files to a different folder - it just moves them to/from the cache with the folder name unchanged.    I was assuming that you are not leaving the files in the downloads folder but are moving them to another folder.
