as the title says- my specs are:

 

mobo: DFI LANParty UT nF3 250Gb (socket 754) with AMD Athlon 64 3000+

 

will be running mix of IDE and Sata, have a sata 750GB for parity, 2x sata 500gb, 3x sata 300gb, and then some ide to throw in the mix.

 

any tips/suggestions? I see that the free version of unRAID is 3.0, I was hopeing to start with v4. I'll be starting out with about 6-8 drives, but can start with the 3 that is the free version limit to see if I have hardware issues.

 

I guess what I'm asking is is there a basic or free version of v4 unRAID I can try to iron out issues? I'm a little skittish about laying out $150 until i see it will work with what I have.......

Yes, just download latest 4.0 & you will be able to fully test your hardware.
