May 3, 200719 yr I decided to try unRAID on a spare system I have because I am considering setting up a couple pro systems to replace my current media servers. Anyway, I am using unraid basic 4.0 beta 10 on a Epox EP-8HMMI-A mobo (http://www.epox.com.tw/eng/products_content.php?ps=338) with a Sempron 3000+ and one stick of 512 ram. I have one 500gb SATA drive and two IDE drives (160gb & 80gb). Everything seems to boot up fine, but when it does a parity sync my speed is ~1904KB/s and estimated time is 4240 minutes. I am using a flat 80 conducter cable and both drives are set to cable select. Oddly, the first time I tried, one drive was set to cable select and the other was set to master and I was getting ~3450KB/s and ~2700 minutes. Is my mobo not properly supported? I have attached my syslog and hdparm results from the two IDE drives.
May 4, 200719 yr Author Another oddity... I had been letting it do a parity sync for about 22 hours and about an hour ago I checked it and it was reporting pretty much the same speed I first posted (1756 MB/s and 1921 minutes remaining). I just checked it again and all of the sudden it's reporting a speed of 56304 KB/s and 51 minutes remaing. Any idea why a dramatic speed change all of the sudden? If it means anything, at both checks the small drive (80gb) was reporting as idle while the other two weren't.

May 6, 200719 yr Author RockDawg - I may have a fix for this. Please send me an email at [email protected] Thanks Tom! Your fix seems to have worked. I am in the proccess of copying over some files to see how everything else goes. I'm loving it so far!
