JM2005
I use an unRaid box at work to scan pdf files to. I was wondering is there is a way to have the file sort order stay the same order that the files where scanned in on? Below is an example of what i am looking for. scan_2010_100_0001.pdf scan_2010_105_0001.pdf scan_2010_123_0001.pdf Right now when i view the file folder the files are not in the correct scan order ! Look below scan_2010_123_0001.pdf scan_2010_101_0001.pdf scan_2010_105_0001.pdf thanks i hope i explained this well enough. Link to comment
Joe L.
Where are you doing the file listing? On Windows? or on a command prompt on the system, console or logged in via telnet? If on linux, what exact command are you using to get the file listing? Link to comment
JM2005
I am viewing this through Windows. Sorry i should have mentioned it. Link to comment
gabbott
Check how your windows box is sorting the files. The issue would be on that box. Link to comment
JM2005
Ok this is where it gets werid. When i view them in windows the file are in correct order and when i scan some more file the order changes again. I havent changed the file sort order in windows and its the same as before. Link to comment
BRiT
Hit F5 to refresh the display in Windows. When Windows File Explorer first opens a directory display, it will display them in sorted order, but if you add files to it outside of that Explorer the new files will be displayed last. To resort them, hit F5 to refresh the display. Link to comment

Joe L.
Strange after Reboot unRaid all is back to normal and sorting just fine. YEAH! Only because Window's re-read the directory all at one time. It it not an issue of unRAID, it is the behavior of windows. If you want to reboot to get the directory listings in order, try rebooting the Window's PC next time. It will have the same end-result. BRiT
As posted before, hitting F5 in Windows Explorer will also have the same effect as this is a Client display issue. Link to comment
