Changing Flash Drives

Featured Replies

OK this may be a simple question, but I am still using the Free version of unRaid, and would like to put it on a different flash drive that I have laying around.  Do I need to do anything special, ie copy any files from the one I am using now to the one I want to use?

You should be able to simply copy the contents over I would think.  I believe the main data is in super.dat.  That would be the main file to backup.

Right - just run syslinux to make it bootable, then copy all the files from the old Flash to the new Flash - you can do this under Windows.

Scott,

As Tom (limetech) indicated, it's a fairly easy to swap thumb drives while you're using the free or trial version.  Once you've purchased either the Plus or Pro version, however, your license key is tied to the particular id # of your thumb drive...the reason why you get such a price break on a second license key.

exactly thats why I wanted to do it now, before I buy.
