January 24, 20188 yr I'm a new user trying to setup an i5-6600k rig (previously setup as a Windows 10 work/gaming machine) as an unRAID-based machine running a Windows 10 VM (and eventually an Ubuntu VM). But I'm still confused as to how to actually do this (once I get past setup issues I'm still fumbling through). My question is a basic one on the mechanics of using the machine. So far I've started up Tower and had to use a laptop to log into the unRAID instance via a web browser. How do I get from here to using the i5 rig directly as a Windows 10 machine? Do I have to boot up the i5 rig as well as my laptop, log into Tower via a browser on the laptop to start a Windows 10 VM every time I want to use the Windows 10 VM? Is there a shortcut? e.g. I boot the Tower and it automatically starts up a VM of my choice as a default? What is the best/recommended practice people use in this situation? Thanks
January 24, 20188 yr Yes, there is a switch (autostart) in the VM settings to boot automatically the VM when tower boot.
