Linux compatible SATA card Syba SI-PEX40064 not recognized

Hi there,

 

I just purchased a Syba SI-PEX40064 card, which is a pretty standard SATA card that is Linux compatible (it uses chip Marvell 88SE9215). But none of the hard drives attached to this card are recognised by UNRAID. The result of running "lspci" doesn't seem to show it either, it only displays the SATA controller that comes with my motherboard:

I've found at the manufacturer's website a Linux setup manual (http://www.sybausa.com/index.php?route=product/product/download&download_id=225) which says that certain Linux kernels don't load drivers for IDE/ATA devices by default, and that one needs to pass some kernel options through grub to enable these (ata_generic.all_generic_ide=1). But I don't see any grub config file at Unraid distribution. Should I try this? If so, how can I pass kernel options on boot at Unraid? Any other ideas?

Thanks, although the System Information panel on my UNRAID setup says clearly that I have IOMMU disabled. This looks more like a non recognition of the card by the system.

The controller should still appear on lspci and load a driver, the vt-d issue it's only when detecting the disks.

 

Try another pcie slot if available, failing that see if it's detected on another PC, it might be a dead controller.
