August 1, 201015 yr Hi everybody, So, I'm currently installing my unraid. It seems to be working (except that I have WD disks and didn't see the jumper problem at first). But I was surprised to see "Disk 1" and "Disk 2" in my windows explorer. I thought unraid would make a giant disk with the two installed in it. I'd like to see one big directory and not 2. Is that possible ? If so, how can I do it ? Thank you,
August 1, 201015 yr Read up on UserShares in the manual. I think that is what you are looking for. Make a UserShare consisting of both drives, export the usershare as read/write Do not export the DiskShares or make them hidden.
August 1, 201015 yr Author Thanks Graywolf, But usershares are only available in unraid Pro right ? So I can't do this if I'm using the free version of unraid... Well, if I'm buying a 6 disk licence I want to be sure it'll work. Can anybody that actually did this confirm me that it's ok ?

User shares are available in all versions, even the free 3 disk version. See here for how the three unRAID versions compare in their features: http://lime-technology.com/products/registration-keys User-level-security is not available in the free version in the 4.5 series of unRAID. You cannot set different access permissions for different users on your LAN. That will change in the 5.X series currently in its first beta release. It describes the differences in versions as: - New security model. - Security is now available in 'Basic' version. The feature differences between the different license key types are as follows: Basic - support 3 array drives, no cache, no Active Directory support Plus - support 6 array drives plus cache drive, no Active Directory support Pro - support 21 array drives plus cache drive, Active Directory support Joe L.
August 1, 201015 yr But usershares are only available in unraid Pro right ? So I can't do this if I'm using the free version of unraid... As Joe says, user shares are available in all versions - I've got a user share set up for my movie files so that they span across the two drives. My music is just on the larger drive, and I keep disk1 and disk2 shared and visible. Sometimes it's helpful to know which files are on which drive, and be able to move them - although moving files between drives is much better done while logged on to the unRAID server, at the console, or via telnet. I, too, will soon be upgrading to 'plus'.
