What are the main differences between setting app a docker container manually using the images from Docker.com or using the comunity apps?

    Ease of use. Community apps are templated and have permissions set to work out of the box.

    I have used Dockers from out side of the Community apps with varying success.

    You can search for them from the Community app store.

    Our images (linuxserver.io) are no different to any other image on docker hub, the only special thing about Unraid is that we produce an XML template to integrate it into the webui.

    You could in theory do so for any image on docker hub.
