Checking if IOMMU is enabled

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have an HP 6005 Pro with Phenom II X4 3.2GHz CPU and am trying to verify if the IOMMU is enabled.

I don;t see an option in the BIOS and setting:

iommu=pt iommu=1

in syslinux.cfg causes kernel panic.

According to wikipedia this CPU is on the list of IOMMU supported hardware.

If iommu is available, it will be activated. There is no need to add anything to the syslinux.cfg file.

Click the info button on the webgui and says if iommu is enabled or not.

Both motherboard and cpu needs to support iommu.

1- Click "Info"

2- Look for IOMMU

That must be it then, the system information says IOMMU disabled. Thanks.

It usually doesn't say iommu in the bios. It's mostly virtualization.

Yes, I understand but Virtualization is enabled in the BIOS and IOMMU is still disabled. I am assuming at this point that the motherboard doesn't support it.
