  1. I changed the CPU to QEMU from Host passthrugh (AMD Phenom II X4) and it works.
  2. Yes. Sorry, forgot to mention that. I tried changing the bios type, video card type and chipset.
  3. For some reason I can't seem to install kubuntu, ubuntu server, or ubuntu server alternate installer in a VM. ALl of them hang as soon as you select an option in the bootup menu (ie check media, install, etc) and it changes video modes. Windows 7 Install works fine, not sure what the issue is, can anyone help?
  4. I have a GeForce GTX 1080 ti and it passes through beautifully, no issues whatsoever. Is there a sound card or list of sound cards/chipsets that work well with KVM/UnRAID?
  5. Yes, I understand but Virtualization is enabled in the BIOS and IOMMU is still disabled. I am assuming at this point that the motherboard doesn't support it.
  6. Now this is also odd. After a restart windows said it found new hardware and installed drivers, all of which was hardware that I already had drivers for. I ignored this for the time being and proceeded to browse the web for awhile, decided to test the audio and see if I could nail it down, and sure enough it got distorted after a few minutes, so I fired up the MSI utility to verify the setting was still enabled. It was, but there are now two or three of several hardware items, I set the MSI enabled to the new copy of the sound card and it got worse. So disabled the MSI to both and it works better than it was before, though still not perfect.
  7. However it ends up being implemented, I second the request to have redundancy on the system files.
  8. I have made a few posts before realizing I didn't have the setting to follow threads I post in set. So, because of this I am not following several topics I am interested in following, and I can't find a button to follow them. OR does that happen once you set the "notify me of posts in threads I post in" setting?
  9. Kind of an odd issue with sound here. It was initially having problems until I used the msi tool mentioned elsewhere. Now it plays crystal clear for a while and then (not sure yet what the trigger might be) goes back to muted and garbled. Seems to be related to youtube, but I could be wrong. I'll post with more info as I gather it. I've attached my hardware profile. profile.txt
  10. That must be it then, the system information says IOMMU disabled. Thanks.
  11. MSI did the trick for me on ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 with Realtek ALC887 integrated sound.
  12. Ah, criminey. I swear I found the answer not two minutes after posting. My apologies. The solution for me was the option on the right side of the vm manager (EDIT: after selecting edit on the VM) that says form view, I toggled it and *poof* xml!
